Just spoke to Artie on the phone, the forecast is for heavy showers and it has just started raining here, so the run is cancelled for today. Artie says he will plan a new date for when the summer arrives. Steve

That sounds like good news, I will be at Washington to leave at 10-00 Steve
  3. Hi Steven, The stud that requires welding is one of the starter motor bolts, it screws into the adaptor plate, but it can not screw through due to the block, hence only a few threads. There is a tube on the gear leaver remote that just sits over the top of a bolt head, I drilled a tapped the tube and bolt head and fitted an M4?? high tensile bolt to stop any movement, but the quick shift may sort this if it comes complete with the remote mount. There have been a few posts about jumping out of gear, and I'm sure someone found the problem, but I can't remember what it was, I don't think it was down to alignment issues, more selector / retaining spring issues. 8. Got Basic drawings for the dimensions, they may need tweeking to fit as with all things RH. PM your email if you want a copy Steve
  9. Hi Ed, Looking at the pic in post #9 it looks like you have the shorter sump (some superspecs came with an engine for a 420) like all things RH different things were fitted to the same model cars it all depended what they had at the time. The 93mm filter is just shorter than the shorter sump, the filter that came with the kit was 25mm ish longer. In the picture it looks like the front of the sump is lower than the back or is it just the angle of the photo? Is the front engine mount doing it's job. Keeping the bottom of the shockers close to the hub is the recommended way as you could (not will) bend a bottom wishbone, to gain ride height wind up the spring seats. As mower man says a sump guard will take away some of the clearance but when you know you are going to hit something I would rather it be the Guard, and you will never get 3.5 - 4" under the sump on the superspec without the bottom wishbones sitting at a stupid angle. The Zimmer shocks are just not up to the job and when I changed mine after only a few miles they were totally Knackered. Was the sump guard made from tread plate in a photo that was taken with the car held up on fork lifts? Steve
  10. Looking at the picthe filter is the same level as the sump, is the bell housing lower? if so (or the same) you have the short sump. Just been out in my fluffy slippers and my filter is about 85-95mm but is above (just) the level of the sump and they are (just) above the level of the bell housing, If they are all level that is the best you will get without lifting the engine, jacking up the suspension. Time for new front suspension and a sump gaurd Steve
  11. Just found the list of filters in that post and it was a reply to another post from you on the same subject, if you realy want a remote filter kit I have one you can have for £45-00 + PP, I bought this before I found shorter filters OR SPEND £5.99 on a new filter
  12. What engine do you have? you say K series then talk about a 420 sump The 420 used a 2.0 T series engine that was used in ithe superspec? If you have a T series engine just fit a shorter filter - no need for remote Steve For details of Filters search posts off the last 2 weeks

    Fiesta Fuel Tank

When I got my Superspec it had standard tank / sender with ETB gauges and they worked fine, mind you with a 12 Gal? tank you have a bit to play with you don't need it spot on, even a 1/2 full tank is more than most people have to start with.
