  1. Thanks for the info Danielle, we should be there on the Sunday. Steve
  2. According to my maths, next resurrection of this topic is due in 2031 !!
  3. Hi Matt, I've sent you a message. Steve
  4. Hi Andi, I'm only coming if I can get there without roadworks !!! All being well I'll see you there, in the kit.
  5. I planning on going on the Sunday - used to be a good show so I'm hoping it won't disappoint. Steve
  6. Yes, I'm just in the middle of a load of decorating at the daughter's. Should have got the worst done in another 2 or 3 days so I'll give you a yell in the week and see what we can sort.
  7. Hi Peter, how do we pay for this ? Steve
  8. Very nice - I might have to pop round and pinch them when you're not looking! I've got my engine back together and I've just taken it round the block. Hopefully it should all be OK now, so we can arrange a meet up if you like. Steve
  9. You're limited on what you can do on the forums if you're not a member but don't worry, folks will find the video OK. As Dan says above, have a go & make it yours. You may also need to re-position lights and mirrors to make sure they comply, make sure the wheel arches cover the tyres and the seats are bolted to something solid - not just the floor. If you're OK with a spanner you'll be able to do it all yourself, just don't expect to have it finished in a weekend ! Looking at the video I can't see anything obviously wrong with the car and there's plenty of people on here who will give you advise on how to complete each bit.
  10. Can you can stick a couple of photos up so we can see how much work is required? Each 2B is pretty much unique and built to suit the owner so a picture will give us an idea of what it's like. As Ian says 2Bs will pass IVA if put together properly, the question really is how much work yours needs. I'm half way up the country from you but there is probably someone near you who will be willing to come and have a look for tea & biscuits.
  11. Hi Baba, Welcome to the club, stick your location on and you may well get folks local to you willing to help. Steve
  12. Hi Peter, can you put me down for this as well please. I've just had a look at their website and it looks like a good day out, well worth a tenner ! Thanks, Steve
  13. Success ............... I think ! On the website I went on to "buy tickets" and then selected "general admission". You can then select how many tickets and for which day(s). when you go to pay there is an option to add the code and the discount is applied. Presumably the code links me to Rhocar ?? Anyway, I've now got 2 tickets for Sunday 26th and I've put an order in for glorious sunshine, is anyone else going ? Steve
  14. Hi Danielle, I'm confused (it often happens). Do we need to book online - if so I can't see how to do it on their website. All I can find is an option to buy normal admission tickets or the option to inquire about exhibiting vehicles. Am I missing something obvious ? Steve
  15. The 205 block is a 2litre block. Earlier blocks had 16 or 20 on the side for 1.6 and 2litre, later blocks were 165, 185 and 205 for 1.6, 1.8 and 2litre respectively.
  16. Hi Dave, For some reason I'd got it in my head that it was on this weekend and I was thinking of having a run out if it was dry - you've just saved me some embarrassment and a wasted trip! I'm not sure what we're doing next weekend yet, but with a bit of luck I'll see you there (on the 11th). Steve

    Petrol tanks?

Yep, similar story here. I had a 30L tank in mine with a 2L pinto engine which does close to 30mpg if you drive very gently. I could never manage to properly fill the tank and was usually looking at filling up after 100 miles. I recently had a new tank made (to my drawing) which holds about 40 litres and I can now fill it. Did a 200 mile round trip to Stoneleigh the other week and still had fuel left when I got home.

    Pinto emissions fail

Have you got air filters on the carbs? If you have I'd make sure they're clean, or better still, I'd leave them off for the MOT.
  19. As Alan says ........... It looks like you've got a pinto engine and type9 gearbox, but not the sierra pedalbox. Tighten the outer of the cable up a bit until there is just a tiny bit of slack on the inner and you should be back in business.
  20. I think GBS will sell you everything to build a zero but, like Westfield, it won't be cheap.
  21. It sounds like the clutch cable is not correctly adjusted - if you've got the sierra pedal box it should auto adjust so you'll need to check that the quadrant mechanism is OK. If you've got something different it may have a manual adjustment. Post what sort of clutch set up you've got and somebody will probably be able to give a better answer. Where abouts are you? there may be someone near to you willing to have a look for tea and biscuits !! Steve
  22. I originally had 20.6mm bore cylinders on the back of my 2B (from the Sierra). When one of them started weeping I replaced them both with 22mm. Theoretically it should give slightly more pressure to the rear brakes but really it didn't make a great deal of difference and the fronts always lock first if I stand on the pedal.
  23. Don't think we'll be able to stop over but hopefully we can make if for the day too. Steve
