  1. Very interested, do you have any photos and a few dimensions so I can check it fits my Exmo without too many mods. Can pick up no problem.
  2. Arrr brings back memories of 2007, just about every home in Hull had an ABI/Willerby /Swift caravan in the front garden. Amazing what a good flood does for local manufacturers. The recession hit the industry hard though together with the government trying to tax them out of existence, it's a miracle we have any manufacturers left in the area.
  3. if it helps mine draws between 2 and 2.5 amps. tested mine a week or so back to see what size wire I could use in the new loom.
  4. Thanks for the reply guys, The reason I doubted myself was because the Haynes manual shows a parallel feed to a junction which then splits to battery and relays. My limited electrical knowledge would suggest to me the current will always take the path of least resistance so unless Ford got these cables exactly the same length one would always carry the load so they would need to be 6 or 7mm^2 each but mine don't look any bigger then the 3mm^2 33amp thin wall cable I have. So thought it may be 27.5amps each output. BTW I'm not 100% positive that the alternator is 55 amps, I can't remember where I got that info from.
  5. Evening everybody, I am in the process of rewiring the Hood and need to order some terminals and other bits and bobs for the alternator. I think I have a standard Sierra unit which I believe outputs 55 amps. My question is, what size cables should I use for the 2 main outputs? Is it 55 amps split over the two outputs because the current damaged set up only looks about 3mm^2 each to me.
  6. turns out they are balence weights to dampen vibration, advice seems to be leave as is unless it fails MOT, if it does cut it off. Think I'll leave it for now.
  7. it's a mazda 6 MPS I did wonder why weights would be covered with a boot but then couldn't see why a third joint is needed. there is no mazda dealer round here and the 'service' centre is actually a Honda dealer which didn't even know Mazda did an awd 6.
  8. can anyone tell me the correct name for this bit of my 6 MPS rear drive shaft. At first I thought it was a joint of some sort, but then it was suggested it may be balencing of some sort. The dealer workshop procedure I have doesn't mention or picture it so is it repairable? it appears to have greese or dirty water (it's black are smells bad) leaking from holes and feels lumpy and fragmented. would rather get the bits before taking this out and finding its a new shaft job. the two shafts on the bench are not the ones from my car btw. thanks jamie
  9. I believe snap-off boss is available for sierra spline, used to have one on a tintop for security and from memory the boss will be about the same depth as the one shown (same as mine) means you can also keep stalk controls and centre horn. I used to have a momo wheel on mine but you do need to buy a seperate adaptor plate for your chosen wheel.
  10. I spoke to GAZ some time ago and they said they could make them about £80 each the originals are indeed p100 units but only the insert, the adjustable platform is just a coller pressed over it and clamped in the hub.
  11. If mono chassis is the sub frame secure? If none of above work it could be crabbing. I've seen it on mini's
  12. not sure which type your after but i saw some examples of soft bits for 7's work on some cars at Newark and it was very good quality. Try giving them a ring.

    Newark 2013

Had a great day at Newark yesterday, did my usual trick of forgetting everyone's name when it comes to saying hi. I think our stand had the most cars and the best shelter from the early rain

    Newark 2013

We will be there Saturday in the tin top, hope it's not a total washout.
  16. here too that's why I asked.
  17. is anybody turning up to this? don't want to be sat in the carpark like a weirdo on my own again?

    Roof On S7

not a 2B but here you are.
  19. is this still on? very wet out there today.
  20. Monday 27th or Wednesday 29th? Providing the wife isn't working I should be able to come and kick tyres. Won't be in the Hood though.
  21. Looking good so far, how do you plan to bring the harnesses to the required height for iva? My Exmo has them mounted to the back panel like yours but I have harness slots in my seats. Although mine doesn't need iva I'm still thinking of having a new roll bar with harness mounting made.
  22. Thanks for the ideas I think I'll do some test pieces fully glued, edges glued etc and see which works for me. I have used normal plywood to make the console as I had a free supply. Should I varnish it first for moisture protection or will that affect the glue?
  23. Hello folks, can anyone give me some tips of trimming a centre console I've made. I've got some thin foam camping mats and some decent quality black vinyl to give a slightly padded feel. What adhesive do you recommend? I have watched a couple of programs lately which show trimmers using spay adhesive and being able to peel and reposition their fabric a couple of times yet still pull it tight, I'm guessing they don't use evostick. Does anyone have any links to YouTube videos you have found useful when doing yours, I'm quite looking forward to doing this but would prefer not to make to many daft mistakes that will cost money. Thanks, Jay.
  24. Put me down as an interested party, depends on mine/wife's work etc so can't give a total commitment I'm afraid. I've been to a few in Hull but we struggle to get the numbers needed as most people prefer the quali heats then fast/slow final which needs 12. Although Hull is fun, it is council run and funding is an issue, which means the karts are abit hit and miss. It's also outdoor which can be a pain in rain but is great fun when damp/drying off. I'll wait for others to decide a date and see if i'm allowed can make it
