  1. hi, thanks for the info. After speaking to Bogg bros. it appears they are two distinctly different manifolds for ZX6 and ZX9 carbs. I've had a similar quote from them but need to check what's included.

    What's This Sensor

could someone tell me what thread this should be?
  3. if you have a search for my posts, I put some picks of my hood fitting, I'll have a look for you later if I get chance.
  4. Evening all, Can anyone tell me if the ZX6R and ZX9R carbs fit on the same size maniflod? Rang GBSc today for a price but they are not sure as they have only made 9's and I would like a rough price before dropping my carbs off, plus it gives me the option of searching for second hand units. Thanks, Jamie.
  5. You might not have enough, but what you have looks good! I wasnt at that show but interiors seating where at Newark.
  6. at the front i use the centre weld point of the suspension top fabrication, at the back i use the diff, i have tried the front mounting point of the rear subframe but the trolley jack dragged the car sideways and lifted front and rear wheels. Looked like it was trying to twist the car. Not sure how low your car is but i have to drive onto to strips of wood to lift it an inch to get the trolly jack under the diff.
  7. I have 5 M5 button heads in each side, if you do decide to retap be very careful not to go into the edge of the glass!
  8. I used to take the rotor arm with me, easy to carry and,as as i found out after breaking down, you need to order in replacements now as nobody bothers stocking them. Not sure what to use now as im going megajolt as part of the rewire.

    Fuel Cap

try car builder solutions. http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/mobile/search?q=fuel+filler+hose&x=0&y=0 hope that works.
  10. I find the hardest part getting out without getting your head taken off be a passing car. I also have to take the door off and refit to get in and out at work.
  11. great looking Exmo, can't wait to see it in the flesh one day.
  12. If you do decide to split I may be interested in the cut down distributor, I already have the rest.

    Mot Advice

I take mine to a local quick clutch which have always been happy to MOT it, only problem I had was when the 'young skinny lad' was off and the tester couldn't get in the car. I drove it onto the ramp (very carefully) and sat in the car for the test. If your unsure of any thing safety wise they will check and advise accordingly, I would rather them find a fault for me to fix safely then bluff it just to get on the road faster.
  14. Sorry for the delay in replying (tin top troubles) here are some pics of mine. I've clamped a spirit level along the top edge of the internal steel frame to get a straight edge to measure off. The hinge is then positioned central along the internal frame. as you can see here the door sits inside the screen frame which has worked well keeping out the rain/snow etc. Hope this makes sense.
  15. Not sure my measurements would be much use, I used 2b doors/roof on an Exmo, but I'll dig them out of the garage tomorrow and have a measure. I drilled and tapped the steel frame of the door, then used a locknut on the inside. Didnt fancy loosing one the road.
  16. Great photos, thanks. Not sure if I will ever change mine, but I'll save the photos just in case.
  17. I fitted the roof first then aligned the doors to suit. Although my weather gear was not designed for my car. Had to do a lot of tweeking to get it right.
  18. Just seen an advert on the gumtree iphone app under: East yorkshire\Hull\Cars, Vans & Motorbikes\Car Parts & Accessories\replacement parts in Hull: breaking engine & other parts £350 Thought someone may be intrested. --Never used before and have no connection to seller--
  19. why bother hacking the pc, some cheeky bu$$er got my card details off a retailer and managed to blag Halifax phone banking (which I have never used) and got themselves £7k balence transfer. First I heard was when I got my statement. Weakest link in the security chain - the bank!
  20. Does anybody have these brake shoe adjusters laying around surplus to requirements? for some reason mine are welded and I can't get new drums on. Beer tokens at the ready. Thanks, Jamie.
  21. Looking good, have you made the boot top panels a perminant fix? where are you mounting your belts?
  22. on the point of profiteering, a Hull fuel company (naming no names **cough RIX cough** ) didn't suffer blockades in the last fuel shortage and put its prices up to ridiculous levels (probably less then prices now) but it got people's backs up to the point of not using them anymore. they still produce petrol and ship it around in barges (yes the floating type!) but just about all their stations have now shut.

    Engine Help

when mine did that, it was the points. Regapped and it ran for a couple of days but then had to replace. didn't cost much but had to order in as nobody stocked them anymore.
  24. anybody have any sensible replys? it's not the mounting which is wonky it's the lock barrel in the relation to the cap that is out. it's been assembled so it must come apart, what I need to know is how, has anyone stripped one to maybe replace a broken barrel etc. I'll live with it for now as I have bigger issues to fix but would be nice to have it all lined up.
