    Steering Column

Hi Nigel. Ok, thanks, but the shaft appears to be about 2.5 inches too long, even when its pushed back toward the steering wheel. I'll put the wheel on and take a look then. Can't do it immediately i'm waiting for a new direction indicator cam bush thats on order. I'll let you know the outcome. Thanks again. Roy.

    Steering Column

Hi Nick Yes its an adjustable one from a 1990 sierra. I'd like to take a look if thats ok, im on nights so its a bit late today to come over, but could call maybe tomorrow? When are you available? Thanks for that mate. Cheers Roy.
  4. Hi Folks, can anyone tell me, excuse my ignorance, when fitting the steering column to the chassis and connecting up to the rack with the GBS steering shaft, my inner shaft appears to want shortening. Before doing this, does the inner (triangular) shaft want pushing rearward toward the steering wheel, or forward toward the front of the car before cutting? Any help here would be appreciated? Thanks, Cozzy.

Hi Yanto The definition of an 8.8 spec bolt is " a bolt with a UTS (ultimate tensile strength) of 800 N/mm2 and a yield stress which is 80% of this. Basically use anywhere where there is liable to be any possible stresses or shear forces. (eg. Steering and suspension components. Cheers Cozzy.

Im hoping to get the diff, driveshafts and back end sorted over the holiday. Yes i got it powder coated. Cheers Cozzy.

Hi Andrew. Thanks for that. I'v been a bit puzzled by it, as i am a number of things! I didn't realise that about the loud pedal. Durrrr! Seriously though, it just isn't clear on the cd. Yes thankyou, i would appreciate the pukka bolt. Don't mind paying for it plus any postage/packing etc. Alternatively, i live 5 mins away from sth Normanton. Thanks for that mate! Cheers Roy.

Hi Phil. Thanks for the advice. Great blog! I'll be keeping an eye on it! Your Diagram and the photo's make it clear. (unlike the GBS cd i got with the kit) Still dont have an M10 X 160 bolt though! The only one in my bag o bolts is 200mm long. Thanks again, Roy.

Hi Matt. Cozzy, new member, not far from you! No it aint you mate. Im equally bewildered! Have you sorted your pedal box set up yet? Pressed in all the bushes, pushed in the spacer tube, which appears too long, and then the only bolt in the kit thats anywhere near the length i want, isn't long enough to get the loud pedal on! Also, what master cylinder are you using? Ciao for now, Roy.
