  4. We are definatly going to be open on Saturday for the open day. Ive just been out and bought all the mince pies and food.   6. Hi we have now made a few bike carb manifolds to fit the CVH engine, this is quite a simple conversion and makes a big difference to the performance and makes the engine fit better. please give us a call if you need any photos or info. Richard
  7. I am sure most people were aware of the resent problems at GBS over the last few months, I can now annouce that as of Yesterday every thing has changed and I am now in control Of GBS. Ian Rowley has resigned his position as MD and will have nothing what so ever to do with the company going forward. This now brings an exciting new chapter in the long history of Robin Hood Sports Cars, there will be many new developments going forward including a new web site new cars and further devlopment of existing products and cars. I would like to thank everyone for their help, suport and advice over the last few months, it has been much appreciated, look forward to seeing everyone at the shows. Regards Richard Hall GBS
  8. Without prejudices There are very serious issues within GBS that are affecting both customer service and parts/kit supply, that I no longer have any control over. Resent events and discoveries have upset me considerably, after all the hard work, money and energy that I have put in over the last 3 years to build the company up, however I don’t want to be tarred with the same brush as things unfold and come to light. Hi i would say the Zetec is the easier engine to fit in both the 2b and Zero as it is a more conventional design and fit straight to the type 9 or MT75 and the clutch and fly wheel can be used as they are. The Duratec will cost more as there are extra parts needed. On the road driving the two cars the Duratec does feel abit sweeter, i think a bit of this was down to the fact it had a lightend flywheel the difference in power was noticeable but not too much. So in my opinion i would go for the Zetec as it is cheaper and easier to fit, having said that if you want to do tuning mods in the future to get over 200bhp it may be better to look at the Duratec. A 175bhp Zetec in a Zero or 2b makes a very quick car! Richard

Thought this might be interesting, I took two Zeros down to Emareld to be mapped one with a 2ltr zetec on 45mm jenveys and the other a duratec on 45mm jenveys they both had the same exhaust manifold design but the duratec had a high flow Cat before the silencer. Zetec made 175bhp and 152lbf Duratec 185bhp and 159lbf If any one wants a copy of the maps i have them. Richard
  11. Hi Mike glad your ok, they are superisingly strong and easy to repair they always look alot worse if the chassis is beyond repair, you can always replace the damaged half as a section If you need any help with insurance quotes etc give us a call Richard GBS

The standard 2b double wish bone setup is not perfect, it tends to under steer mid corner as weight shifts and the camber on the out side wheel goes positive, also the steering feals light and unconected with the road. there are a few things that can be change that make a big different with out a full redesign and the cost in doing so. These are fitting longer stub axel adaptors and ether moving or fitting 2b2 wishbone at the top to increase the castor. on my own 2b i played about with the suspenion quite abit this made the car a lot quiker and give more feed back. these parts are avalible as they are standard on the new 2b2 as well as other improved parts, most of which will fit earler 2b. the sliding pilar converion is very different.     Design Weights

    hi the design weights we have been putting down are 450kg front and 600kg rear with a gross weight of 1050kg this seem to get through ok, also increase the max road speed to around 130mph as we have had a few back at 100 Richard

Staff Needed As a result of increased demand and as part of our plans for 2009 we are looking to recruit kit car builders, these will be permanent positions full time, the job will entail build up of cars from chassis upwards so must be competent with paneling, electric and general mechanics, involvement in R&D may be a factor for some , age is no barrier just need to be good.     Cooling Systems

    Yes this was my old car one of the fastest hoods out there, it looks like some one has played with the oil breather system. the cooling system was working very well you can check the real temp by connecting the Ecu up to a computer and look at the data in real time you will be able to see the theromstat opening and closing, if you want a details on the car give us a call Richard ps Andy your car had a harder life with over fueling ?

Hi most people seem to be going with the Pinto and the Zetec the pinto on bike carbs goes very well and is a cheap way of having a fairly quick car, the Zetec (180bhp) makes a very quick car the power is very trackable and smooth. there are many different engines that people are fitting in the Zero pinto, zetec, seira twin cam, xflow, vauxhall red tops, kawisiki zx10, yamaha R1, honda blade, rover k sercie, rover V8 very tite fit, we have just done a modifeid chassis and new engine mounts for a mazda rx8 rotary engine 230hp 6 speed and very light. We were planing to have one of our Zero demo cars on the track but it has been "T" boned by a Astra and until "her" insurance asseser has been we don't want to touch it, So as we have track places available for RH cars on the manufactures track it seem a shame to waste them so if any one wants a go please give us a call 07923 222276 by the way the Zero stood up very very well to what was a 30mph + crash into the passenger side of the car,great news for all building one i guess on the bright side we will have recieved a free crash test!   23. Robin Hood GBS still have moulds and pannel for all the past and current models of car, including the 2b, the moulds that are on ebay are old ones and are very well worn they also do not belong to the seller ? Richard
