Thanks, nice little job one evening then.

Thanks for your help guys, there are visible bubbles in the fuel line. I've not looked at it in any detail at the moment but should I put the redex down the injector hole or the glow plug hole?
-
Is the Renault stuff thicker than the off the shelf flush?
Thanks.
-
I've done the cycle thing you mention but has taken 6 cycles in the past. I should say when it does fire up it runs on 2 or 3 untill fully warm.
No smoke that I notice, very clean generally.
-
Good point, ok.
Any clues to the primer bulb?
-
I'll give that a go when I can but it does run when you can finally get it started and will restart after a few hours so they must be working?
-
Anyone know of a very strong engine flush? I've a problem with my dci clio not starting, I'm fairly sure it's stuck ring or rings as it's a problem I've had in the past and Renualt double flush fixed it.
I've flushed it twice with silverhook and that doesn't seem to have done the job.
When it's warm it starts up without to much trouble but when left over night it won't fire up.
The plug light lights so I'm comfortable the glow plugs are ok and they are fairly new. The bit that's confusing me is if I squeeze the primer bulb it gets very stif then all of a sudden loose and I hear and see loads of bubbles. So does that point to a leaking injector or something?
130k 65bhp dci.

As title really. Cash waiting.
Thanks

It may well be cheaper but take a close look at how many pieces Stuarts screen disintegrated into. It only needs 1 to take an eye out and since its likely to shatter when at speed I would argue there is a good chance several pieces would breakaway from a film that is just stuck on top.
Just my opinion
Stick it to both sides?

It's done at last!!! Getting it back from the dyno tomorrow! Few niggles to fix but it's running and has pumped out 160bhp, room for loads more after cooling issues are sorted.

Fuel draining back to tank? My pinto used to do it.
-
To big for my lanky legs, all yours duck if you want it.
-
Which company? I used to work for exxon, they will poo themselves if it's one of their none franchised branches.
-
Hi, what's the size?
-
I have grp seats from hull, comfortable and very light but the gel coat finish is not as good as it could be and they scratch very easily.
Agreed, the finish is far from show car standard on mine also.
-
Swiftcover?
-
Do they have the measurements? I think when I looked they came in various sizes.
-
The above are what I have, I'm skin and bone so have no trouble, they fit in my s7 no trouble. I'm 6"6 too and they gave me a much better driving position.
-
I bought retroford also. I asked this exact same question about pre made, they don't really exist.

Spent an hour on the car this afternoon, electrics are all sound now, no overheating wires or incorrectly wired cables!
Water temp sensor connected up, TPS calibrated turns and springs into life and as yet no nasty clunks! So I'm guessing my gremlins were being caused by dodgy wiring on the car loom.
I do have a slight grinding sound on crank though, the second that it ran for it didn't happen so I'm fairly certain it's coming from the starter or starter cog grinding on the flywheel, I don't have the dust guard fitted so maybe it's over throwing? I'll move it back with a washer or two when I get a chance.
I feel like it's mechanically sound now so I'm thinking of whacking it on a trailer and getting it to a dyno, I'll do a post in the loan section but guess I can double up here, anyone have a trailer in the Surrey/London area that they would be prepared to lend me?
-
I'd guess so but working flat out then away next weekend. Gives me more time to think things over and plan.
-
I'll get there, I'm treating the while thing with a different attitude now, doing more of the groundwork I should have done in jan and feb.
-
if I can get a few more bits sorted tomorrow then Tuesday when road tax starts can take it for a good shake down
Drive down here and fix mine!
-
Don't let looks deceive you. There is no really way of testing a crank sensor without the correct equipment! They are not very expensive either.
Ok, I can get hold of another if problems persist.
