  1. Me to next week, need to try and get a decent throttle cable route.
  2. Thanks, just found the 8mm for £45 online. eBay defiantly isn't always cheapest!
  3. Hi, Part of the problem I was having with my badly running blacktop turns out to be lead related, one wasn't even working! (Crate engine) Anyway I've burrowed johns while his engine is in bits but I need to get a set, any recommendations? And where from? Thanks.
  4. Similar morning to me, raised mine up a few mm on stiffer mounts, seems perfect at the mo, I could get away with higher if needs be, then got it started and ticking over fairly ok with Johns help. Here's my but..... Leaking fuel pressure reg and horrendous clunk from starter/bellhousing area on start up to the point where we stopped trying. Was terrified it was a valve or something but once I calmed down and we thought it through it was clear it was starter related, the engine turns and has run for pushing 10 min in total so timing is proven ok.
  5. I reckon so, another pair of eyes you might spot something I've not. No problem if your busy though. I'll email you a vid of it running.
  6. Also... The ITB set up i have is held to the inlet manifold with silicone pipe. I've spaced the Throttle body's just away from the inlet to avoid heat transfer, any advice on if this is wise or if it should be pushed right up to the inlet manifold?
  7. As far as I can tell the tps will only go one way, it allowed me to calibrate it with ease too. The loom was pre made so I have to assume that it's correct. It's a crate lump, I haven't touched the belt. It can only really be the ITB's that are causing the problems, it's defo a fuelling issue, I've got good and steady pressure, set slightly higher as per what Omex said when speaking to them today, that's the point that I got it to start and stay started but the idle is awful. They could need balancing. I wish I did have some omex experts close by, John has been an amazing help but he's an emerald guy!
  8. Mine a bag of nails I'd not dare drive, the map is set to my exact set up so I'm assuming minor issues elsewhere, I think I have a small vacuum leak in the inlet. I'm terrified of it going lean and then going pop. Happened to a mini turbo of mine many years back and cost me a fortune etc.
  9. It's alive! Think I preferred it when it wasn't though, idle is like a sack of nails, really off putting infact, when you look down the trumpets you can see an orange spark/light. That's the point I killed it before any harm was done. The throttle cable is a joke, located in a ridiculous position on the end of the itbs which leads to an all but impossible route down to the pedal. My love for the car dwindles day by day. On the brightside, omex tech are very very helpful!
  10. After a testing few days with the car last week I'm going to have another shot at things tomorrow. New heavy duty mounts to hopefully stop the engine sagging, propper rubber fuel pump mounts for the low pressure pump, serial cable and USB to serial cable and the water temp sensor kit. I'm edging ever closer! Wish me luck!
  11. I have taken my switched + from what used to be the feed for my electronic ignition, it also feeds my low pressure fuel pump.
  12. Pedal boxes are hell! Mines been a pain since the start! Hoping to be running by next weekend, raise the engine a bit this week, tidy some wires, get omex to talk to a computer and I'm away in theory.
  13. Thanks to both, running tps and no turbo so both will be capped off.
  14. Do I plug? Or feed onto the fuel pressure reg? GSXR1000 itbs not sure what to do with them.
  15. No holes at all at the moment, I'll drill a 13mm hole for the sender.
  16. Brilliant, thanks, it's for my ecu sender, the gauge one is plumbed into the hose system just next to the housing.
  17. I've got an Omex coolant kit to fit to the thermostat housing as my loom isn't set up to use the one in the head, I have to drill into the thermostat housing. So my question, is the housing fully plastic or is it lined with metal inside? Thanks
  18. Had the same thing with omex yesterday, it's all a bit of a joke really, last time I checked it was 2014!
  19. Thanks everyone. It's been put away for a few days after a slightly annoying morning with the omex, couldn't speak to it today with Johns cable/laptop then PC! So new cable is on its way.
  20. If it's spinning that way how will it be scooping the water? Maybe I'm wrong.
  21. I'm using the sender from the pinto, the wires on the loom had two wires, one labelled gauge and one labelled oil light. I had expected the light to go out on cranking but it doesn't, so have kept turning the engine to a minimum. The cam lobes having oil on a good sign? I've left the brand new filter the engine arrived with on under the assumption it would have been filled with oil by ford? Should I spin it off and fill it?
  22. Far better day cut short by the rain! Starter turns and engine turns freely as I'd expect from a crate. It won't quite spring into life though had hoped for a 2second run then kill. Few questions, I've adjusted fuel pressure to 45psi as I'd read that's correct? (Gsxr1000 injectors) Not sure if the oil pressure gauge is working as it didn't move on crank, pos wired wrong. So second question, cam lobes have oil on them after cranking so I have oil flow? Any simple problems others have had in the past that had prevented first start up?
  23. Yeah it's another step in the right direction! If the idiots on eBay had sent the serial cable I ordered I'd be ready to calibrate tps and fire it up. Might try and sus out the pressure in the rail this afternoon.
  24. All earths cleaned and tightened, battery charged overnight. Turns perfectly! Thanks for all your advice.
