  1. I am hoping my seats will sit low enough for it not to be a problem, if they don't then I'm a bit scuppered. The logical answer would be to weld a bar across the roll cage at the appropriate height and run the harnesses across it. This would make the roll cage a "structural" part and that opens a host of other problems as it is not really up to the job of a structural part and certainly would need mounts changing and strengthening.
  2. Ah yes, raw striker seats will fit. About the only 7 with a smaller cockpit than ours!
  3. Quick update as I realised the previous post is missing due to the forum update. I started making a boot cover and inserts for the rear wings, went to finish them off tonight only to realise the piece of leatherette I had that was "just the right size" wasn't. Quick picture of the bits that are done Then Sunday I got a bit of time in the garage and went about making and fitting my harness mount brace and fitted rear harness eyes I also acquired some new cycle wings from stoneleigh. They are wrap around type so cover a latge portion of the tire and i think will suit the finished car well. they required some adjustment as the holes in the sides of the wings were in the wrong place for my brackets, so set about repairing them. They will be painted in Renault black gold at a later date. I also spent some time preparing the interior ready for carpeting etc as the next jobs on the list are fitting the harness eyes and load spreaders for the lap straps and fitting the seat load spreaders, with those done its time to carpet! so That's me about up to date again. Will hopefully get some more done this weekend.

    Update

Congratulations! May have to make the trip to Newark and have a nosey.
  7. Just sent you a message.
  8. Where are you based? Wouldn't mind the emax as a spare for a future project.
  9. Used evistcik spray carpet adhesive and worked fine.
  10. They are a narrow bucket but not narrow enough for our cars. Narrow GRP seats are sometimes not narrow enough!! You can get a GRP bucket to fit but you will need slender hips.
  11. They appear to be mk2 clubman a where as mine were mk1. Overall dimensions are the same though so no they won't fit. I was convinced I could squeeze them in but I was wrong. Cobra roadster 7 are about the best seat for our cars IMO. A nice fit and better quality then the intatrim alternatives IMO b
  12. Like these? If so they don't fit, I tried.
  13. 195 45 is smaller than 195 50 so tire size isn't the issue. Sounds like offset or rim width.

    Update

Looking good! though your fog lights aren't correctly marked and will fail IVA. Edit. Just realised there are number plates on the car so you are probably talking mot not IVA...
  15. New owner joining up? Be nice to have another hood local!

    Bike Carb Problems

Have the main jets been changes to suit the car engine? If not that's your problem.
  17. Achieving and then maintaining a "mirror" finish in such a large flat area of stainless is a black art all of its own. Vinyl wrap / paint is the way forward in my opinion.
  18. Just thought I would post a quick photo of a repair I have carried our to a pair of GRP cylce wings I bought at stoneleigh. The holes for the cycle wings were in the wrong place, so I decided to fill them. I had a fibre glass kit in the garage I bought a while ago but had never opened. I have never before this done any fibreglassing or anything similar before. So took my time and this is the result and have to say I am chuffed. Also if i can do it anyone can with a bit of patience. Now just need to sort out my bling paint (renault black gold which is a metallic black with a gold flake) to finish them properly, thankfully one of the few jobs on this build I have done before!
  19. Ah ok. Here's a picture with a car that's got them fitted Personally don't like them but having to fit mine to keep IVA man happy
  20. Glad someone asked!!

    Stoneleigh

Was only there for Sunday but was a great day, really enjoyed the show and the opportunity to meet some of the members from further afield. Big thank you to all who organise the stand.
