  1. Actually looks quite good
  2. Oh boo. I'm at work until 4pm and only live down the road from this!
  3. Anthracite with polished lip
  4. As it should have! Other sites/clubs may offer good amounts of advice and knowledge but none offer the same support and friendliness as rhocar. I said once on another site I woulda have been able to build my car if it wasn't for the online advice I recieved from that site. The difference with rhocar is that members have given that help, advice, support in person, and even helped by actually assisting hands on with their skills and knowledge. That is something that can't be matched anywhere else, and takes you from head scratching and stressing over bits of your build, to making proper progress!
  5. As above, a car with an age related plate can have a cherished number and normal rules apply.
  6. Definitely speak to Zach before ordering!

    What Car

Clio 182? Hatchback practically, quick and sublime handling.
  8. I've not investigated building a zero but would be surprised to see much change from £9/10k once finished.
  9. Sounds a bargain! Certainly more completed than my S7 was for the same money!

    Bracket Making

Sorry missed your call mate. Will give you a bell tomorrow to sort out popping over. I've got couple of bits of 1.6mm steel, which I think I have about enough of if that's thick enough? Dont think the originals were particularly heavy weight material.
  11. Andy if you are looking to get the box refurbished agency transmissions in Worcester have a very good reputation with the Clio lads. Wouldn't bother with a second hand box as they normally have issues.
  12. Glad you posted that grim as its exactly what I was considering doing for mine as it seems to fit just the sierra outer case is a bit long to make a secure fit with.

    Bracket Making

A better diagram someone on locost just drew for me, with measurements. Only problem with diagram below is what it shows as a piece if box section should be an L bracket as described and shown above.

    Bracket Making

It's to replace the original head light/clam shell wing brackets on an s7, so basically what I am after us a copy of that without the wing support and with an L bracket as shown by the pink and yellow sections.

    Bracket Making

Haha. No, I was getting confused (not difficult) so just made the different colours to show seperate pieces.

    Bracket Making

I have come to the conclusion that my fabrication skills are not up to the job, and I need two brackets making the will support my headlights and indicators. I have produced a very basic 3d CAD drawing of what I need making (well the right hand one anyway...) and wondered if any of the more gifted welders would be willing to have a look and maybe provide a price for their time and materials in making me a pair? I have provided a shot from CAD of what I am after, though the cyan coloured piece should be a triangular gusset, I've never used CAD before and so this was the best I could do...

    Will Not Start

Check for spark Check fuel getting to carb - disconnect fuel hose from carb and hang it into a bucket as you crank Make sure you have a live to the fuel cut off valve on the carb Lastly, loosen retaining bolt on dizzy and rotate dizzy slowly as someone else cranks engine until it fires into life. Then do up retaining bolt. Will need setting properly with a timing strobe later on but will get it started.
  18. Wiring fault in tow electrics loom.
  19. Worked a treat, thanks florin.
  20. Don't be put off by hooks and eyes. You can simply add screw in eyes to your existing setup, assuming currently using 7/16unf thread which is standard for belts and harnesses. Also I would consider 6 point over 5 point, for comforts sake.

    Q Plate

Which emissions test do you mean? At IVA you will be tested on emissions based on engine age. At MOT you will be tested based in standard allowances or what is in the V5. So you will either get visible smoke only at MOT on a Q plate or if unlucky, emissions based on the engine depending in what mood DVLA are in.
  22. They are exactly that. Can't believe I didn't think of trying that!
  23. Thanks Ian. Will have another look tomorrow.
  24. That was my first thought but not one I can see. I chucked a load of wd40 on it earlier and am going to have another go tomorrow as I've got a pass to be in there all day after picking up swmbo's new Welsh dresser.

    Towing Eyes

Material one is what I will be fitting. Can leave it on permanently tucked into the nose cone.
