    Donor car or not it will still need an IVA inspection and to be correctly registered with DVLA.
  2. Fitting Cosworth 4-pots to the 1958 Ford Prefect Turbo Pinto FINALLY! It seems both an eternity and only 5 minutes ago that I called Steve Walford Motorsport to discuss modifying these calipers to fit the kit far setup, and then just after they were done plans changed and we started the ball rolling in the 100e instead! How does this relate to the 100e? Well we carried the uprights over from the kit car, and the wheels, and so the brakes should drop straight on just like we intended, and boy, are they gonna look good!

I would recommend finding a tuner you want to use, and then buying the ecu they recommend as not all tuners will tune all ECUs, or will be able to get the best from an ECU that they are not familiar with. There are many good options out there, at all price points. I see you are in Wolverhampton and as such I would recommend Steve Walford Motorsport in Birmingham for tuning, a number of people here have used him, and I personally work very closely with him on my own cars. He generally prefers Omex ECUs and can supply them, but there are also others he recommends. - http://swmotorsport.tk/
  4. one way valve doesnt stop the evaporation. Best fix is an electric fuel pump.

    Second everything richy says, and just to add, I dont think they are actually that much heavier than a pinto, so wouldnt be worried about the weight.

This weeks video we take the first step towards the final build of the 1958 Ford Prefect Turbo Pinto project car build by removing the Volvo 940 axle and giving it the clean and paint we should have probably done months ago! While we are at it though we fit brand new brake discs, refurbished Volvo 2 pot calipers (Thank you again to Richy for the super refurb!), and a new handbrake cable from the ever helpful team at https://www.skandix.de/en/ As I was doing all that, it seemed silly to put the Volvo steelies back on, so I finally get round to fitting the custom wheel spacers from superforma and try the RenaultSport Clio 197 17' alloy wheels on for size. Sure they need a refurb, but man do they look the part! Cannot wait to get them refurbished and fitted with the bigger tyres we are going for!

  12. In this video I am mostly cutting up tube and sticking it together with unicorns because (a) my welder is broken and (b) I suck at welding anyway! The end results though, well, I am very happy with them and cannot wait to get them properly welded up!

I can check mine next time I am in the garage, but I wouldnt use that for an oil cooler. you really want a thermostatically controlled one otherwise you will find it difficult to get the oil up to temp. EDIT - should read the post properly, that will be fine for relocated filter, but you will want an inline thermostat for the cooler.

  20. no photoshop required, just claim it was refurbished to as new standard and that everything else was new and you could get a new plate with a pinto.

  23. When I registered my kit I was expecting a Q as hadn’t used enough of donor, but had sent the V5 just to get rid, and didn’t have proof chassis was new. DVLA called me and advised I would get an age related plate if I sent the receipt proving the chassis was new. I explained I didn’t buy it new and got no paperwork so didn’t have such proof and he suggested I might want to “look for it” and “you never know what you might find”, I actually had to tell him to just give me the Q plate as that was what I was expecting and wanted anyway.
