Hi looking at buying a 1996 built Robinhood with a 1.6 pinto engine. The owner has owned it since 1996 and on checking the logbook it is correctly owned at his address on the original sierra registration plate and he also has it on his private plate which he last had it on the road in 2008. I asked him about iva sva issues and he owned it before these regulations and sent logbook off in 1996 and it states that it is a Ford Sierra "Sports" in Red/Silver which is correct for colour. He explained to me this was correct for the early cars pre sva/iva and is indeed how dvla returned the log book after he registered it as the kit car made out of sierra parts. It does ring true as it states "sports" and colour correct but i am a bit worried as all the horror stories of ringers etc. It also has been swapped to his private reg and been mot up till he stopped using in 2009. He has showed me paperwork for his private plate and all the logbooks mots and all in his address since 1996 so he seems honest enough. I did ask him why it does not state Robinhood on logbook but like above he said early cars took on the donor cars identity with "sports" or "kit" etc with correct colours.
