    Starter Motor Help Required!!

Hi guys New owner and complete a mature here any help and recommendations welcome. I’ve got a 2l Pinto engine which I have records saying it was built in 1975 for a Cortina. The starter motor is very lazy. I bought a new bosh style one off eBay but it is just spinning so believe it is a bad fit. The one that’s come off the car is a Lucas 25345a. Could someone please recommend a new, more efficient replacement? thanks
  2. Hi all, I have been steadily working on a newly acquired 2B Plus and so far since I brought it, I have installed a Zetec blacktop. The install went easily enough and I have re-wired the car and used the switch gear and fuse boxes from the mondeo. So everything works fine, lights, gauges, switches, even the timer on the intermittent wipers works however turn the key and no starter motor. I have tested the motor by bridging the battery positive and the motor terminal, and I have tested that the ignition wire has 12v to it so I am guessing it is the solenoid. It's a new starter but I suppose not uncommon. Is there anything that I am missing?
