  • Welcome to RHOCaR - The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable on going maintenance and modifcation) as well as to plan and organize a wide range of social and sporting events, from local area events to our national End of Year Bash! We have one of, if not the largest club stand at the National Kit Car Show at Stoneleigh each year, and we definitely serve the best burgers! We also have stands at many other shows throughout the year all around the country. It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members arrange regular run outs and even longer trips including the ever popular Wales and Scotland trips.

The Club produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members. It is packed with news, events, articles, technical features and irreverent cartoons. The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register, we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as its all about the state of mind, not the car you drive!

Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often get a discount that is more than the membership fee itself. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a wide variety of other discounts, including discounts at Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for anyone they see is in need of help, as long as they too are a member!

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield or a Caterham, all can benefit form joining, so what are you waiting for?

    Allan Royds
    By Allan Royds,

    Hi all.

As it is only 7 weeks to the show,  Do we know if we can occupy the old field or do we go where we were last year?

Have we entered into a coversation with the organisers to see if we can return our home plot.

    Yours hopefully

    Allan

Curborough Sprint Circuit Day Thursday 30th May 2019

    richyb66
    By richyb66,

We are hiring the Curbourough Sprint Circuit on Thursday 30th May 2019 which is off the A38, north of Lichfield, Straffordshire.

Initially this is open to 2019 Club Members only and we'll see how quickly the places go and then if there are free spaces we'll throw it out to everyone.

We have places for 20 Cars available and the circuit can be used from 1000 to 1300 then 1400 to 1700 so there will be plenty of time for everyone. For safety there will only be one car on the course at a time and we will be using the top loop which keeps the maximum speed down to a sensible level.

There is a 105dB static noise limit that MAY be enforced. All drivers and passengers will be required to sign an indemnity before using the circuit.

More details of the circuit can be found here https://www.curborough.co.uk/

Places can be booked via our store link further up the page. If you book your place, please put your name on here so we can track who's going and how many places are taken.

I'm aware that Thursday won't suit everyone but the dates (especially weekends and Fridays) get booked up quickly. If there's enough interest, we will try to book more dates later in the year and consider making it a more regular event.

The cost will be £42 per car.

Any other question, please ask and I'll try and answer them.

    Staffs area notification community users

    Andi
    By Andi,

    Hi all,

I have not too long ago been appointed the RHOCAR area secretary for the Staffordshire region and I just wanted to let people know who I am and what will be happening in the Staffs area.

For the interim period I have started a regular meeting which will be on the first Monday of each month at the George and Dragon Meaford Rd, Meaford, Stone ST15 0PX starting at 19.30 . This takes place at the same time as a classic club meeting and in the summer it is packed out, so plenty to look at. However I want to get other suggestions for any other dates times or venues that people may prefer. Also runs out in the summer are on the cards so I will be putting forward some suggestions for this. There is already Stoneleigh kit car show in May to run to and also Hoodstock in Leicestershire in August/September time. Or if there is a stunningly beautiful weekends that are crying out for an impulsive countryside run out to a country pub, get in touch

Also as a club we can be active in supporting and helping local peoples builds or technical issues, free tool hire or getting local help if we ourselves need it. You could be involved as much or as little as you want.

If there are any club related questions or issues, then again please get in touch and I will make sure it is given to the correct committee  member.

If anyone does want to contact me direct please give me a personal message (PM) or email me at scalefour@gmail.com, or just come along to the meetings. Bring your family and friends if you like in your kit or daily runner.

Thanks for your time and I hope to see you soon.

    Andi Cartwright.
