Before I put the car back on the road I need a MOT so am installing windscreen wipers and washers.

 

My Question is,

 

Do I need to have a heater to demist the Windscreen?

 

I am thinking yes, but hoping No.

No, you do not need one for a mot test.

even though i have a heater , there isn't a demister fitted, with the top on in rain you will need a cloth on a stick to wipe the screen

no,my 1st mot I had no windscreen or wind deflectors.

as stated no demisters are needed, just a little tip, make sure any stickers that you may have do not encroach in to the swept zones of the windsreen (excludes tax disc's, parking and access permits) although any tester should know that if they find any other sticker or badge which restricts your vision then they should give you the opportunity to remove them before considering them as a fail item.
