i've had my eye on a set of ford 16" mondeo alloys with 205/50 16 tyres.(4 stud) B)

has anyone fitted anything along these lines?

i'm not concerned with the dia. its the width i'm worried about.

will these fit under standard arches? <_<

as i bought the car i dont know if i have the wide front / rear arches

does anyone have any measurements so i can check?

does it matter that the mondeo is a front wheel drive?

so many questions .....can anyone help??

You also have to make sure the offset is correct. This is the distance from the bolt holes to the centre line of the wheel... :(

And the clearance from the inside of the wheel to brake caliper :(

Is nothing simple <_<

In the Lolocost part of the Robinhood catalogue it says that the front cycle wings are 8" wide & the wide one's are 9" - if this helps ???

Cheers,

Andy..................... :D

Hi Ash.

I own a Mondeo fitted with 5 spoke 16" alloy 205 wide.I thought these would look good on the 2B <_< so tried. They do fit :) but you need to fit spacers :( big spacers 40mm :( . Also you will need the wide wings.

There was a 2B at Donnington with these wheels fitted. also another with Escort wheels fitted they look the same but are 15"

ive was going to buy a set of 17"s, but a freind say"d, and he"s quite right, it will totaly

change the driveabilty of the car, ok on "A" roads , but as most of my driveing is on "B" roads, ( thats why lorrys have spot lights on there roofs, here. so that they can see when they are coming out of potholes ? ) true. and the ride would be alot harder, and i think it would brake away, alot quicker, when your give"in it 2nd and 3rd around corners, , so you"ll end up ,by give"in up handleing and comfort for good looks , you need to draw a blance, wich is stick to 15"s for the road,

apparantly there is a guy with a hood nearby to me, who's just put some 17's on to stop problems with spinning the wheels don't know any more details as I heard it from a mates dad, I would have thought it would have made it less responsive etc, but I havn't even met the guy with the hood ;)

In my experience bigger sizes just reduce the liveliness, that's why I've got 13's :D

ive 15"s and in 1st gear ( in the dry) if your give"ent some, there"s nothing there, just alot of smoke are burning rubber. i"d go for 13"s but i still have problem with bottoming out, so if i put on 17"s it would raise the car and stop it spinning so much in 1st gear, loose a bit on o-60, i"m just talking myself into changeing the wheels, but i do like a bit of comfort, and the tyre are alot cheaper for 15"s, "0" these things are scent to try us,
