just had a call from bob (rs jigtec)he has allready taken the x-flow out and has made me a offer for it against the cost of instaling the turbo engine

RS Jigtec must be a really good automotive engineering firm to realise that that is the best place for the battery.

mind you bill he did say that the battery would need up rating and the cables thickend

How "Thickened" the cable then?

We tested ours with more than the full amount of cable and it turned the engine over nicely for quite a while, and the cable didn't get hot!

i shall be talking to him in the week and i will ask him all the reasons to do with the rear mounted battery

I'm glad you made contact Rizla - I am pleased to have helped in some small part and look forward to seeing you at Curborough in August - was it you that laid down a challenge to Tim ?? He has taken it VERY serious and ordered an Aluminium chassis from RHSC. Assuming he uses the same or similar engine that is in BOB, BOBSON will be approx 15% more BHP per ton - OOOER !!!

yes it was me that laid down the challenge to tim,

got to have some fun in life mick

still ally chassis or not i wont be able to see it that well in the rear view mirror

 

on another note cheers for the intro to bob(rs jigtec)great bloke and he sure knows his stuff

mind you he did say in a brummy accent "your a nutter" "a turbo with 226 bhp in that"

(his approximation of hp based on one he has fitted in a quantum 2+2)

 

never mind im sure tim says most are to worried about breaking thier cars cause they look to nice

mine isnt tarty its functional as is bob im sure

Can I just ask you what is involved in fitting the RS Turbo lump to make it rear wheel drive...???

ok this might be a bit long but here goes

1 engine will bolt straight on to sierra box,but you need to fit a bearing in the rear of crank(not fitted on a escort/fiesta

2 engine mounts need fabricating

3 focus intercooler is used(diesel)as its larger and easy to mount

4 ally intake pipe needs directing forwards

5 thermo housing needs modifying

 

and various other minor tweeks

the pic is when it was installed in the previous owners s2 at this momment it is away being fitted as we speak

i wonder where tim is , is the challenge getting to him,roll on the new year
