I have my engine out of the donor and looking at it, the sump is only 1" lower than the bellhousing ? Are there different sizes of sump, mine is on a 2.0L EFi, doesn't look like it needs shortening or if so, only a tad !

I have a sump from a late (92) 1.6 pinto. This is only 5.5" deep. Same as the recomended cutting depth on the 'how to shorten the pinto sump' article :D . Guess I'll be using it as it is.

Andy if you can do without fitting the engine for some time I will pick it up from you at the next meet and cut it for you also require the pickup tube. I have done several now using 3mm steel for the base as even with it cut down you will be surprised how many times you hit it.

I will be away for the next fortnight (warmer climes) as us older ones have to set ourselves up for the winter (no comments from you ether Bill) :p :p
