  • Welcome to RHOCaR - The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organize a wide range of social and sporting events, from local area events to our national End of Year Bash! We have one of, if not the largest club stand at the National Kit Car Show at Stoneleigh each year, and we definitely serve the best burgers! We also have stands at many other shows throughout the year all around the country. It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members arrange regular run outs and even longer trips including the ever popular Wales and Scotland trips.

The Club produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members. It is packed with news, events, articles, technical features and irreverent cartoons. The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register, we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive!

Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often get a discount that is more than the membership fee itself. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a wide variety of other discounts, including discounts at Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for anyone they see is in need of help, as long as they too are a member!

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield or a Caterham, all can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for?

East of England Meets for September

    By alanrichey,

A bit of a disappointing turnout at the End-of-Season Bash last weekend although all the participants had a good time.   But in the East we don't have a season, we operate all year round 😀

So, seeing as the weather next week has suddenly come good, we are going to have a picnic at one of our favourite meeting places.   Sywell Aerodrome in Nottinghamshire (NN6 0BN).    A large free car park, a cafe if you don't want to self-cater, a museum, a static aircraft display and also a nice view of the operations on the airfileld.

All welcome, 12:00 on Tuesday 13th Sept, bring a chair, or a rug.

And don't forget the GBS Coffee & Cake on Sat 17th, weather lookin OK at this stage.

Cars and coffee at GBS  premises 17th September. Usually a good turnout weather permitting.

    New Magazine Editor required

    By nelmo,

Sadly, after 3 or 4 years in the role, I am retiring as the magazine editor in around May next year. As such, this leaves an exciting opportunity for a new editor to make their mark on the unique feature of our club, the magazine.

    The role

    1. Every 3 months (Jan, April, July, September), generate the club magazine (about 15 hours of work).

    2.  Once a year, invoice the club sponsors for their sponsorship amount.

    Required Skills

    1. Ability to use a desktop publishing suite—I use Microsoft Publisher which is bundled with Microsoft Office (I get mine from work) but if you have anything else, that is fine. Once generated as a PDF, I send this to our printers, along with a list of member addresses, and they print and post the magazines out - nice and simple.

    2. Experience with Microsoft Excel, to generate invoices (I have templates) and keep track of sponsors details etc.

I will provide a very thorough handover for the new editor and I’ll be available for assistance as I will still remain a member of the club.

Please email me (magazine@rhocar.org) or contact me through the forum for more details or to volunteer.

We know its 9 months away and we are organizing our 3rd Dirty Duck Camping weekend  for 2023, the event is open to anyone who wishes to join Sharon and myself for the weekend,we are hoping to see all the usual suspects and it would be lovely to see some new faces,

The date for the event is Friday 16th June 2023 to Sunday 18th 2023, we have booked pitch 3 from Thursday to Monday, I suggest booking early to get pitches in the same area to the left of the site, link to Booking and site plan

We will be eating in the Pub on site Friday evening and it would be great if you could join us, we will be happy to book your table and place your order nearer the time.

The club will be funding a BBQ on Saturday evening for members, along with Play your cards right for those who would like to join in.

A run out will be planed for Saturday, details will follow later.
