Nose Cone

Hi all

Just about to fit the nose cone to the car. Will i need to bond brackets to it or is it ok to just drill and bolt through.

how have you done yours? Pictures would be great!!

I just rivited some convienient angles of stainless to the chassis and used some Rivetnuts for the nose retaining nuts.

I would if i do it again use Dzuz fasteners to make the removal a lot quicker.

I bonded (with fibreglass) brackets to the sides and bolted them to the chassis by the headlamp supports, this seems to have worked as the nosecone doesnt move at all when in place - I think I have some piccys on my blog!

 

I havent got round to it yet but I think I'll also bolt through underneath to add some strength, I dont think it needs it but maybe just to be on the safe side.

 

I'll be driving it up the A21 towards Gillingham for my retest Friday morning so I'll let you know if it blows off !!!!

Who's front hinged their bonnet?

 

I was planning to hinge it on the back and use a catch off a Mondeo but think I will hinge it at the front now with some snap catches to secure it to the body.

 

Any photo's or dimensions?
