Pinot 2.0 Head Gasket Holes

In process of stripping and recon of 2.0l pinto. Noticed that the head gasket seems to block up the water galleries from head to block. New gasket from headset would also do the same. Hum.. seems strange?

Jim,

That's correct ,its so the water flows around the block and then the head. Don't poke through the gasket. I had to replace a cylinder head because someone I bought my RS2000 from thought that it would aid cooling!!!!!!!.

Result large cracks in the cylinder head.
