Impending Problems :(

Hi guys

Took the 'spec to an MOT station yesterday for a health check prior to SVA, but they spotted a couple of issues.

1 - Front flexi brake pipe brackets - too flexible :( Any 'spekkers got picture of how they did theirs?)

2 - The Bigger problem - Emmissions! Lamda was too high (1.07 - 1.17) :(( This was on a B.E.T emmissions test. When they tried it on a C.A.T for a Rover 200/400 series it passed

Any thoughts on what to do, has there been any new info from RH on the Lamda that I may have missed. All help greatly appreciated guys

cheers

Hi e,

I had the same with mine. Ended up getting a new Lamda sensor in the end. The one supplied with the kit is for a Ford engine, and having spoken to my local engine tuner, he said that it'd never run properly with a Ford sensor, as the signal voltages are different. I know that some of the guys here have managed to get through with the RH sensor, but I think it's a pretty close run thing, and depends greatly on the conditions on the day.

Couldn't get my emissions down anywhere near with the RH sensor, bolted in an NGK one for the Rover engine and got CO 0.00% HC 10ppm Lambda 1.01. Flew through the emissions.

Regards,

Phill
