Scrappy Shopping List

Thinking of taking a trip to the scrappy some time soon - can anyone recommend which car to take an electric fan from, as a replacement to the RHE one?

 

I also need a small, compact jack with a low minimum saddle height to fit under the car. Again, which car should I be looking out for to take one from?

 

One other thing, can anyone recommend a long lasting, spray-on lubricant? WD40 seems to dry up after a couple of days.

My fan is from a Renault Extra Diesel van. Have a look at my web site for pictures. It's a very thin fan with built in shroud and then you take three strips of metal to the motor as brackets. It also cools the 2.0 EFi lump a treat ... even in the 38 deg C heat of a queue on the M1 a few weeks back.

My electric fan came from a Rover 214 16 valve of early 90's vintage.

Fits nicely complete with cowl onto the RH supplied rad.

You could also look at Nissan Sunny/Cherrys their fans are nice and slim.
