Cycle Wing Brackets

Hi,

 

Just trying to fit the cycle wing brackets, cut the multi bend tude as per the video, but when offered up to the mounting bracket attached to dummy strut found both tubes to be the same diameter? Even cutting a slot in one won't work. Any sugestions??

Hi Andy,

Did you not get a short (300mm) length of a slightly larger tube with the kit

There is an instruction to cut this into four equal lengths and use as a sleeve to connect the other bits.

No didn't get any additionall tube, is there an instruction in the video about this?? Off out to the garage to see what i can find.

The instruction was on the additional information sheet we got on collection day(June '02).

Page 2 under "Latest Detachable Tag Type Cycle Wing Brackets".

All it says is " A length of tube is supplied Approx 12" long, cut this in four and use it to sleeve the tube instead of fitting one inside the other."

I wondered what the hell that tube was for

 

I will probably weld these together for strength

I was in luck, remembered after all I did receive the 12" tube and it works a treat, will weld when aligned.

i riveted mine, until i was happy with the fit, the welded, and filled the rivet holes with weld. I then ground away the weld into a smooth surface and it hardly notices as a joint of any type.
