To avoid the SVA problems with the threaded rod and nut at both ends I dispensed with the front one by welding a plate,drilled to accept two 6mm bolts, to the rod. Fitted the first one this pm drilled the two small holes for the retaining bolts, top one line up perfectly with the wishbone tube you can guess the rest. Pass the welder lets start again :help:

It's when I drilled the top hole straight into the wishbone that I started crying. But it's welded up now, so just make some new plates with correct spacing of bolts, cut existing ones off, weld new ones on etc. etc and I'll be back to where I started yesterday morning. I can't believe I haven't learnt better than to be messing with cars.
