Well done, sounds like you've sorted it. Good luck for your SVA.

For future reference you can tell the difference between a leak and air in the system by whether the pedal creeps. If you press down hard on the pedal and hold it there if there's a leak then it will slowly creep downwards, if it's air then it will stay put.
