Hi

yes

once its gone its gone....

A lot of people have handed the mac cert. over

and not realised they will never see it again.

So it needs photo copying if only to show it off to others ;) ;)

DVLA never cease to surprise me. Once again a case of the left hand not knowing what the right is doing. Has anyone else had theirs back?

  • 4 weeks later...

6 months after mine got on the road (and I had taken it off again to rest it during the winter) I realised that I would need to tax it. The renewal said bring your copy of an MOT with the relevent paperwork to get a new one. Now I thought the MAC was my MOT untill I realised I did not have it any more.

I went to the DVLA (cap in hand) and it was all sorted out. Seemingly the DVLA swansea will send out reminders asking for the MOT, but if you go into your local DVLA they know that as long as the vehicle has not aged 3 years since it was registered then no MOT is required. I now have a lovely tax disc can wind in my (lack of) hair again. whoo hoo./ but wish I had copied my MAC too.... :D
