Nos

I have seen the damage NOS can do to an engine so I would not go anywhere near NOS at all IMHO

just think if you where going to tune your engine so that it produced an extra 150bhp, would you leave it with standard internals etc? Just a thought

Done properly Nitrous can be a very easy way to reliable extra power and no it won't damage the engine but. That system seems to be a simple on/off one which will do the job on a massive understressed lazy V8 but it'll kill a more "european" engine in very short order.

To do it in your Hood you would need a progressive controller. These will inject the nitrous in pulses and controlled amounts. As engine speed increases it will increase the duration of the pulses/make them closer together. This way the extra power is fed in gradually and results in less stress on the engine. You also have to bear in mind that all the nitrous does is allow you to burn more fuel for a given volume of intake charge so you also need a way to add extra fuel when the system is running (normally a petrol injector) this should also ideally be controlled by the nitrous control system. Check out the "Wizards Of NOS" for "proper" systems - they are very good but don't expect to get them cheap.

And no 150bhp increase is not a realistic expectation from a 2000cc engine. 50bhp should be no problem though on a standard engine.
