Fuel Pump

Hi Guys

 

I now have my engine fitted to the car, but I knocked it over in the process and smashed the fuel pump :boohoo: . I Have a 1989 205 Block with Weber carb. Will any pinto fuel pump ie 1600 1800 2000 carb or injection fit or will I be searching scrappies for a 205 block?

Hello Stephen,

The injection fuel pump is an electric pump so no.

The one from a 2.0 carb version will work fine

As for the 1.6 & 1.8 I dont know but I would think they are the same as the 2.0

I,ve looked in the Haynes manual and it doesn't state any different types for different CC engines.

You could phone Halfords or your local car spares shop and see if they think there are different.

i've got a brand new facet pump, which you could have for £20 + p+p if you want. I bought it, before i knew there was a difference between carb and inj. fuel pumps. I also have inj fuel pumps if anyone wants to buy one. Yes the inj. one i got wasn't man enough so i got another one!!
