A Tenax fastner fits onto a spike like fitting that is threaded and secured with a nut ,plus they come with other fittings too woodscrew type etc, i use these bolt type on the door fixing straps, the ones i have i have had since the 60s as they where used a lot on soft tops of cars i had at that time , Woolies sell them today http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-59-tenax.aspx.
