Club membership numbers are increasing steadily throughout the year (a benefit of the rolling memberships introduced last year) which is a good thing and as a Committee, we thought it would be good to welcome new members on the forum. We also thought it would be useful if we could show what areas of the country they are based so people can see if there are new members in their area. As a quick reminder, if people can put their approximate location on the Members Map it can help organising events and seeing where there are groups of members – useful in our continued attempts to get more things done at an Area level. GDPR regulations somewhat limit what personal inform…

We now have a new supplier for club branded merchandise. Redbubble provides a print on demand service that offers high quality clothing, phone cases, mugs, stickers and more. This means customers can place orders for items, with a choice of logo and have then directly delivered to their door. Initially we have created 6 different logo designs like the one at the top of this page with the car in various different colours. This can be put on a variety of clothing and non-clothing items. Our store can be found here: https://www.redbubble.com/people/rhocar/shop?asc=u Thanks to our website admin Stu (theduck) for getting this set up. More products and additiona…

Some of you may know that Roadsure have been taken over by a company called Premium Choice. In past discussions on the forum RoadSure have regularly been quite competitive and the new company have now agreed to increase the members discount to 15%. In addition we have negotiated a small donation to be paid to the club for every policy taken out, which has been referred from the RHOCaR site. So any of you looking for insurance it may be worth giving them a call. We are an independent club so this is not a recommendation but merely a suggestion, with nothing to lose but 5 minutes of your time. They are a knowledable and enthusiastic bunch of people interested in cars, so no…

Hi everyone My apologies that this has nothing to do with kit cars, but it is something I am now passionate about and I firmly believe is very relevant to many of you on this forum. Some of you will already know that just before Christmas I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I had an operation just after Christmas and thankfully it was caught in time and I have just been given the all-clear. But the important thing is that I never had any symptoms and found out almost by accident. If I hadn't been proactive I could have been drinking and eating with many of you at yesterday’s meet not realising I had a terminal illness. So I now have a mission in life to…

Hi all. Just a quickie, I'm just looking for some comments regarding Learner Driver Legal Liability; I went out with a friend who is learning to drive with L plates on his car -he was driving. The funny thing is, he's absolutely convinced that 'I' as a full license holder and being over-21, accompanying him in the car, am also liable for any motoring offences while he is driving. I havn't yet asked what would happen if there were another 4 licence holders in the vehicle..? lol.. I mean would they all be liable aswell..? I havn't been able to find anything on the web yet that I can point to, and say '..don't be so silly..' atb tak

Race 2 P4-P2 had a good start, head down, some good battles and was chasing down P1 but couldn’t catch him. Really pleased with the result. Thanks to bromleymotorsport_ for the data compare . If you won the lottery or came into some money, what car would you buy? Firstly no I have not won the lottery. I would like the top of the range Velar, just think they look amazing and iconic.

I acquired my Tiger Cat E1 in June 2024, finding it in a deplorable state. The electrics were entirely non-functional, necessitating a complete rewiring from scratch. The dashboard was riddled with holes and filled with inoperable instruments, while the engine cooling system was severely rusted, rendering the car undriveable. Over the next three months, I dedicated myself to restoring this vehicle, investing over £3,000 in spare parts alone. The restoration journey was challenging and required extensive work, but it was also incredibly rewarding. A crucial factor in my success was the support and expertise I found within the RHOCAR club forums and the broader kit car…

Interested to find out other people's passions/ other vehicles (love or hate them) ill start, ive got the robin hood, just got rid of my ducati hypermotard 1100 evo, got a kawasaki z750, a 23 plate suzuki vitara, a 2001 reg peugeot 6 Berth motorhome (which I'm selling to upgrade), love my bikes but not getting any younger, the motorhome has been great and we've just refurbished the inside, the robin hood is currently completely stripped out down to bare shell, and the z750 currently is sitting in the same garage as my robin hood needing brakes sorting 🤣🤣🤣

Following on from a resurgence of "What was your first car" post I feel it only fair to ask "What was your worst car you have actually owned and why?" My hands down winner was a FIAT uno, Jeez it was crap, it really was a Fix It Again Tomorrow car. It was a nasty little rust bucket that did 0-60 in 30 odd seconds. Clutch went after trying this. Power steering went, coil springs, engine everything went wrong on it at some point and I only had it for 3 months or so. More than that, it was just so boring to drive. In fact even as I type this I can feel my blood pressure going up. If you had to rely on it for a job, you would have been catching a …

Hi all. Some of you may perchance know me from many of the forums I have moderated, run or frequented in the last 25+ years. I was at one point the main contributor and Moderator for the Haynes Roadster forum , Sadly issues with suppliers and dwindeling supplies of sierras seemed to hit that forum hard along with administrators having to vet every new member due to ancient forum software. To their credit Haynes kept the site up for historic purposes. It's still running and I am still a MOD. Anyway My Roadster build never got finished and was sold ~ 2 years ago. I have had a number of normal modern sportscars ( SS1, Z3 , MX5 and MGTF ) ... But used to…

Hi all, had to share the joy that after a summer of careful resuscitation, many replacement sensors, 20yr old tyres, fluids and partial rewire, "Britney" is back on the road after 10 years rest. Sailed through the Mot so just awaiting a dry sunny day to get her out and about....

Hi guys thankfully nothing else wrong with the car........... yet, but was just thinking (dangerous I know) but do you guys advertise this forum on Facebook at all? I mean everyone on this forum ive encountered so far have been great, and there's untold amounts of knowledge between you all, just makes me wonder why this forum is so quite compared to other forums I'm on, to be fair the other forums I'm on aren't for kit cars, they are for audis and subaru, has it always been pretty quite round here?

I got some very sad news today that Paul Jordan has passed away through the dreaded C. We had some fantastic laughs in the hoods and he was instrumental in setting up the first "Hoodstock" festival My thoughts are with his wife Sheena, his Son and the rest of his family. RIP Paul Andi
