tech line out of bounds for elecrics questions
 :( Whats it for then! Asking questions about gardening?

Best place for help is here...'cos most people have already done what you are trying to do :)

Just don't ask if its a good idea to put the battery anywhere odd :p

I am going to make my own loom from the donor loom but haven't started yet :boohoo:

Basically what I have done is:

1) remove all the tape around the wires and cleaned off all the glue

2) run the long wires down the tunnel ready for lights, indicators, tank sender etc

3) put the fuse box on top of the tunnel above the bell housing

4) shorter wires in the engine compartment.

Now I need to do the dash as thats where I will start. i.e. Instruments, ignition switch and column cluster

The electrics are simple 'cos there is no on board computer/lamda/pressure/temp/crank position/knock sensor/injectors/etc/etc of the modern cars! :(

PS And of course the battery...in the front where it should be :p

I made my own loom from scratch. I was dreading it but it was actually a lot easier that trying to work out what was what on the sierra loom. It also means that you can get different circuits for everything. This will be a great help if anything goes wrong in a couple of years time with the electrics.
