What Year Was The Pinto Used?

Been to look at 2 sierras today (a G and H reg) and both of them had twin cams in. What year did they stop using the pinto?? I've got another lined up to look at tomorrow but don't want another wasted journey.

 

The one im supposed to look at tomorrow is E reg. Thats got to be a pinto surely

 

Why can't i fit the twin cam anyway? are the mountings different or is it too wide or high???

The E reg one should be a Pinto. The DOHC engine can be used but the exhaust ports are on the near side which as well as meaning you have to cut more holes in panels (or buy them from RH) also means that you have to do a bit of jiggery pokery with the brakes and where to mount the servo and some other things too I believe.

i got a g plate pinto only 1600 engine so i beleive they may of changed the engine in 1990

1989 was the changeover year so there'll be a mix of SOHC and DOHC engined G regs around but all H regs and newer will be DOHC
