Zetec Megasquirt Map

With all mapping there are things to set up before you can run someone elses map. What injector flow and fuel pressure was the map set up for. Match your fuel pressure if you can and rescale the map to your injectors. Re-calibrate the map to all your sensors. Its no good if its not reading correct engine temperature, air temperature, crank position and load. Once you have done this essential startup work you can usually get the engine to run. It is unlikely to run perfectly unless the map was written for the identical load sensor to yours. Run up to temperature checking that the temp sensor is giving sensible readings. The cold enrichment uses engine temp to work out what extra fuel it adds over the standard fuel map. No good if the sensor tells the ecu its 20C when the engines at 80C because the ecu will add perhaps 200% extra fuel for the 'cold' running. And so on.

To often you see people struggling with a map which has not been matched to the installation. Apologies if this is teaching eggsucking to an old hand.
