Thinking about cutting the bonnet and hinging it as in Joey Brown's build and making the piece nearest the steering wheel fixed and hinging the front part of the bonnet from there. In JB's build he says make the cut about 12" from the end. Has anyone else hinged the bonnet in this way and what tips can you offer?

Cut mine with a jig saw, some have used a 1mm cutting disc in an angry grinder.

Which ever method you go with keep the heat under control, especially if you car is stainless

Thanks for that Ian. Yours looks great, could you let me have the measurements of your set up I.e the bottom measurement from end of the bonnet in the car to the cut and the measurements of the position of the screen brackets.

I used an angry grinder on mine. Then fitted a hoop to support the bonnet that it could also slot into and held down by to bonnet locks. I haven't hinged it so it comes completely off, as does the nose which tilts forward then has a slide off hinge. Will try and load some pictures up.post-4470-0-71961300-1380197533_thumb.jpgpost-4470-0-36280900-1380197566_thumb.jpg

The scuttle is 17" at the base from the scuttle rear to the cut. This was determined by the position of my fire wall so can be different from car to car.

The rear screen pillar bolt is 6" from the rear of the scuttle but again this was determined by the fitment of the wet weather gear.

The two lower screen pillar bolts are 4" up from the bottom edge of the scuttle.
