New Owner Needing Help

HI, I've just purchase a super seven originally built by Rick Moss I think? Reg is A611XLG.

 

Needs a bit of love... however I have hit a small problem. The car did not have any fan fitted when I trailered it away. I was given one by the last owner which he said was a new fan that bolts onto the end of the engine.

 

When I removed the rad and went to fit, it was clear there is no room? This replacement fan is approx 6 cm in depth at the gap appears to be only 4 cm clearance to the rad and the end of the shaft from engine block it bolts to. Had a look at the rad and if it can be moved forwards and it cant. Did the 2 litre engines have a thinner fan?...if not what have you guys done instead?

fit an electric fan, engine mounted fans sap engine power, the electric fan could go the other side of the rad out of the way.

When you select your fan for the other side of the radiator make sure you get a push fan not a pull fan. Don't just change the wiring, they only work 30% when wired wrong.

Ok thanks , have ordered push fan and will re position rad.
