on my car the previous owner bought new shockers that were too long and he lowered the spring platforms to the bottom of their travel so the car was at the height he wanted.......unfortunately that gave the car 1" of suspension travel. raising the car on the springs gave it a stance that was ridiculously heigh (A 4X4 stance almost)

not wanting to buy yet more shockers i cut off the top mounting and fabricated new ones to get the car at the right height and give it the full 3" travel the shockers gave it.
