Help !!

I am trying to fit a 5 speed Sierra box to an early 1.6L Pinto which has a 7.5" clutch.

The Splines on the Gearbox are 1" od and the 7.5" plate has 0.88" splines.

There are a number of possible solutions:-

1) Get a later 1.8L engine with a 8.5" clutch.

2) Get a 7.5" clutch plate with 1" splines.

3) Get a later 8.5" Pinto Flywheel & fit the bigger clutch.

The easy answer is 2) a 7.5" Pressure Plate with 1" splines. Part RCK 8941

Thanks to those who replied.

Colin

I am waiting for the delivery of a 3 in 1 clutch kit from ebay I got it bloody cheap. I am hoping it is the right one for my car all I had to specify was the number of splines (in my case 23) and the donor model. If all turns out to be fine I will check with the seller if they have any more and forward you the details.

Cheers

Dave

Hi Colin,

The input shaft diameter is not relevant in this case. The important bit is if you have 21 or 23 spline shaft. All pinto flywheels will fit either clutch but not all boxes.

Hope that helps
