Fuel Filler Pipe On Sub-k

Guest Guy

I am fitting the an injection Sierra tank and am looking at the filler pipe that came from Robin Hood.

In the video, the short section of the 2” pipe has the flange for the filler cap welded onto it and the long end goes into the tank.

My pipe has the flange welded onto the long end! This has the effect of making the tank sit about 5” away from the back panel and it encroaches into the seat area.

Are they all like this, is it me that’s wrong or the pipe?

It sounds like your filler pipe has been welded up incorrectly.

On mine supplied by RHE in Jan. the flange to fix the filler cap to is welded to the shorter length.

I've yet to fit it, but it all seems to line up OK.

RHE in all decency should replace it.

Thanks for the reply Mike,

I just phoned RHE and Richard said that the one on the video is the 2B and my pipe for the Sub-K is correct.

I still think it's wrong, I know the tank goes into the seat area a bit but I think it's going too far.

It looks like i'll be cutting and welding the pipe. :o
