Also just realised that my wipers are not working

My boy was in car messing with stalks etc now wipers won't work

The motor is working and if wiper arms are removed the spindles are working correctly but as soon as wiper arms fitted you can hear the motor working but wipers stay still looking under das the motor is moving about abit would this be the prob

If the the motor is not solid would the extra tension of wipers against screen make the motor move or something instead of wipers moving the motor does but with arms off there's no tension so the spindles can move or does it sound like spindles not slotting in arms correctly worn spindles or arms

In my experience wiper motor had to be pretty solid. Can you lean under the dash with a torch to see what is going on?

Yeah it's not bolted in direct through motor but was using a strap type thing and wood wedge all a bit loose

You have to make it solid so there is knowhere else for the force to go other than drive the wipers.

Have you tried trapping the motor and holding it still before you start off at the wrong end.

Could also be caused by worn gear tooth in motor mate.
