2 L Pinto

I have jsut been through this with my Westfield. I had a P100 engine and wondered why the car pulled well down low then ran out of puff at about 4500 rpm. Well when I ripped the engine apart I found out why; it was a low compression engine.

The difference between the low and high compression engines is simply down to the piston height. In the LC engine there is a gap of a few millimetres from the crown of the piston up to the deck of the block that simply is not present on the high compression engines. My pistons are actually marked 20LC instead of 20HC.

So to get what you want youn need to change the pistons or do what i did and go and get a complete 205 engine from a scrapyard and rebuild it.

hope this helps
