i did a conversion on a 1800 cvh sierra

fantastic consumption on it no power loss and it even started on it

running a focus and a 1300 escort on the stuff now

the sierra is been used as the doner

check ebay for systems

the procedure is straight forward for installing the system

it cost me £500 to do the sierra with a pierburg carb

when i transferred it to the 1.3i escort single point inj it cost me 40 quid for the part basically it is a gas ring that sits after the air filter and before the carb.

i would recommend gas to anyone 200 miles to a tenner on a 150,000 mile 1.8 cvh with nice clean oil from change to change

also got the wife a focus on it straight from uncle henry 1800 zetec head modified by tickford by it does fly

Hi Craig

Looked into the gas thingy some time ago. The DIY jobbie looks very feasible to people like us with all our skills gained from Hood-building. I think that the cost of a fitted conversion would take too long & too many miles to pay for itself, but the DIY situation seems more cost-effective. Pity there is not much room in a Hood, but then again, by carrying luggage on a rack a-la NW Hoodies principles, there could be room in the "boot" for the bottle. Mmmmm. Food for thought.

does not take a lot of time to get your money back just look on ebay and you can get the parts you need

1 tank

2 8mm pvc coated copper pipe

3 vaporizer

4 venturi

5 switch and level guage

6 bayonet filler

all in all you could easily do it in a day

going to seriously consider getting the 2b on it when its done (no emissions tests) ^_^

the only problem i can forsee is getting an air filter and venturi under the bonnet
