It's time unfortunately! It has to go! :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo:

£4,250 ono (Comes with a folder of receipts totalling £7k+)

Car was bought built by two mechanics, it was well built & is one of the best handling "pillar" models around (Judging by Barkston Heath!).

Being an early 2b it came with sliding pillar suspension which works adequately in most situations. (I do have bump stops fitted & it's upgradeable to double wishbone from MNR ~ £400)

The swept wings & stainless pack were added as optional extras.

It also came with the Escort Dash pd (Mk5 I think) & switchgear.

On purchase the car had done just 30 miles since being built as was pretty well specced with new or recon stuff used all over.

The spec runs as:

2.0 Injection Pinto (205 block, unleaded better flowing head)

Webber 38DGAS twin choke carb non progressive carb (from V6)

Piper mushroom filter.

Piper bp 285 fast road cam

Aldon advance modified distributor.

Aldon Ignitor electronic ignition kit.

Aldon "flamethrower" big spark sports coil.

The engine was also fully reconditioned. (stem seals etc)

3.92 Diff with new seals - this makes all the difference!

New Clutch.

New brakes all round (cylinders, calipers, servo, pipes pads etc)

High volume oil pump.

New water pump.

New battery.

New Alternator.

New Dash pod.

New Switch Gear.

New Wiring Loom (upgraded to feature headlight relays).

New "kenlowe type" electic fan, (viscous removed)

5 New alloys & new Kumho powermax tyres.

Race Harnesses.

Mini Heater fitted.

Lockable boot.

Coilover rear suspension (with additional damping).

4 into 1 manifold, straight through Box

sump guard (priceless as the sump has not been shortened (I have a spare sump & pick up pipe ready for shortening, it's not difficult)

Full wet weather gear.

When I bought the car it ran pretty hot so first mods:

Dual core "coolman" radiator (took me a day to find new hoses to fit & make up the brackets, RHE said it was near enough a straight swap - yeah right!!)

New "pusher" electric fan, thermostatic switch & boss (in top hose) running through a relay. (on purchase the fan was running the wrong way, passing little air & running off a switch).

Fan/Radiator cowling, from nose cone to rad on all four sides so the air cannot flow anywhere else.

QTH 370 1.6 Primera modified lower temp Thermostat.

Aluminium header bottle - uses old cortina/capri "suction" single pipe design.

That sorted the cooling.

The Robin Hood Recaro's were still on their runners & were too high, (I was looking over the top of the screen, no way you could drive with the hood on) plus the seat was approx 1/2" too far back for me & couldn't be moved any further due to the transmission tunnel side.

I investigated many possibilities & then bought some Roadster sevens. (Drivers seat is on runners, pretty much anyone fits, as a friend has driven it who's 5'2" and another who's 6'3" but he was a little bit cramped.

The RHE mirrors were/are crap! They came off & I fitted a set of Tiger chrome jobbies.

Fitted a motorbike tax disk holder to the side of the car (yes, not strictly legal but I'd rather that than it blow away or someone nick it!!)

At around this time I also added a bigger clutch quadrant up from 45mm to 50mm & a new cable which was badly affected by heat. At the same time I lagged the exhaust manifold.

I also binned the points & condensor & added an Aldon "ignitor" kit to the dizzy & an Aldon "Flamethrower" high output coil.

I had a rolling road tune at about this stage at Sanspeed in Bexleyheath. 99BHP at the wheels. approx 121BHP flywheel up from 110 BHP on first run.

Recently I have added a 55mm clutch quadrant, new clutch cable with additional heat protection, new exhaust mount, fitted "turnbutton" fixing for hood to screen, fitted additional rear dampers, fitted motorbike "mini" indicators (still 21w) , changed the screen washer bottle to a bag type, added Land Rover wing vents (stainless) as bonnet side vents & fitted a Mini heater.

Taxed till end August. MOT July.

Can put another 12 months on. Haven't done so as front plate is cracked (in passenger footwell in case I get stopped :D) & I will either leave it up to the new owner or fit one to his/her spec.

:boohoo: :gdit:
