Hi All, a bit of info for anyone having trouble bleeding the brakes. It has taken me 2 weeks and 2 litres of fluid to fix this, but wit a process of elimination I found my bleeding problem was caused by one of the brake pads on the front slipping out of posotion during fitting of the caliper. I did not see this at the time I fitted them and when I tried to bleed the brakes and started applying pressure on the pedal, it caught on the caliper and bent the back plate such that the surface of the pad became paralell with the disck. Of course when I pushed the pedal, the back plate did not move, it just sprung back and forth, hence loadsa pedal travel, New pads and a re bleed later, pedal is fine and locks the front wheels no problemo.

Moral, watch that the pads remain in place when fitting the calipers and check when refitting the whell that the pads did not move.
