Date Of Manufacutre Of Pinto Engine

Hi

 

I am sorry, as I know this has been posted before but I cannot find the thread, but can somebody point me in the direction of where to find out the age of a Pinto Engine, I have two engines one with number

 

IY17587 - (I think, I have tried to celan the number of as best I can and that is what it looks like)

 

And the other is

 

CL 47490

 

I am just wanting to know the engines age.

none of the info on the sites corresponded to my engine number so i sent an e-mail to ford... with engine number

To get a letter to suit the SVA mans requirements you just have to write to :

 

The Ford Technical Information Centre

PO Box 300

Walsall

WS5 4QH

 

Give them as much details as you can and they will issue a letter confirming the age of the engine, And it did not cost a penny.

as for the IY..... engine no. is it possibly JY..... oct 1988 ????????
