Rattling Baffles?

hi

anyone had a problem with the exhaust rattling? mine was bought about 18 months ago from RH and has been great until recently when a rattling started. took it all off and its not the nuts and bolts or anything touching it - it sounds like something inside. was wondering if a baffle could have half broken and is flapping around.

 

any ideas?

I thought the silencer was a simple perforated tube with fiberglass wadding wrapped round, if it is then the only bit that could move would be the perforated tube. you should be able to see from the manifold end. It may well have come detached. It could be a case of prodding with a rod of some sort to feel if there is any movement. Good luck.

check out Bill and Joes web pages they had the same problem - perforated baffle in exhaust broke.

they came up with a fix and repacked the exhaust at the same time
