Absolutely amazing! I went to a lecture on wednesday by William Toet, the BAR (now Honda) Formula 1 team's top aerodynamicist - he showed us some onboard footage from the sprint / hillclimb car he drives in his spare time. It looks like a Cobra, weighs 500kg and has a 600hp engine! He reckons 0-60 in 1.9 seconds and it corners as if it is on rails. It seems even faster than this video if that's possible. For next year they are putting in an Indycar engine which weighs 20kg less than the current one and has 800hp, giving the same power to weight ratio as next year's F1 cars. That's going to be quite scary!

I think you're mistaken, there is clearly a 600 foot run-off, okay it's straight down but I'm sure they use parachutes
