Just can’t get the thought out of my mind of all those little electrons going down that long wire wondering how long it will be before they can take a short way home

I know what you mean, I can picture them arriving at the Starter only to be told they are on rear lights

Macca

you should be a comedian (Oh yes I forgot you are !)

according to my Haynes Eleccy book

.......

to test using multi meter........

"the batteries surface charge must be removed before accurate voltage measurements can be made. Turn on the main beams for 10 seconds, turn them off and let the vehicle stand for 2 minutes.

With the engine and all accessories off, disconnect the batteries negative cable. Touch the negative probe of a volt meter to the negative battery terminal and the positive probe to the positive battery terminal - read the voltage. A 12V battery should read 12.6V or above. if its less than 12.4V charge the battery before proceeding with any other tests"

note - make sure the probes are correctly connected + & -
