Has anyone used discs on the rear instead of drums.....???

If so how did you modify/shorten the handbrake cable as the ends that fit the calipers are different to the ones that fitted brake shoes.

Guest Peter n the better half

discs on the back .. Wont this increase the tendancy for the rears to lock up before the fronts ?

the calipers on the rear have a known problem when it comes to the auto adjuster tho.. if its old the adjuster worm gear wears and breaks inside the caliper.

The only way round this is new calipers.(from experience..)

if you look at the other thread tho re shortening the cable theres a post ref a couple of builders clamping a cut cable with sva success.

hope this help and the pitfalls dont put you off..

good luck ...........meeza

I'm hoping the deacceleration valve will sort out the overbraking problem at the back and i have already fitted new calipers....off to look for the other thread now....
