Just to add to the confusion I got a fail on two counts at Shrewasbury and this was a alloy spare!

 

First point was less than 2.5 on the edges, cercumferance of the fixing holes and the second was believe it or not the valve cap.

In dispair I put a cover on it with the addition of internal padding as he said that if he could feel the offending holes it would still fail!

 

I think I turned up when he was having a really bad day!!! I certainly was.
